Bose has extended the shutdown of SoundTouch smart speaker cloud services from February 18, 2026, to May 6, 2026, offering users a brief reprieve.

Core smart features, such as internet radio, streaming services, and app-based controls, will cease, but local functionalities like AirPlay 2, Bluetooth, Spotify Connect, and speaker grouping will remain operational.

Bose plans to release the API documentation and source code, enabling third-party developers and the community to create alternative tools to compensate for the loss of cloud services.

Bose announces the discontinuation of support for its SoundTouch line of wireless speakers and systems, effective February 18, 2026.

Post-support, features like Multiroom playback and access to integrated music services will cease functioning.

Bluetooth, AUX, and HDMI functionalities will remain operational for supported SoundTouch products, ensuring basic audio usage.
