The C.E.C. 8003 is a fully automatic direct drive record player manufactured between 1981 and 1982 in Japan. With a sleek design available in silver and black, it boasts dimensions of 427 mm in width, 131 mm in height, and 368 mm in depth, weighing 5.5 kg. The unit features a powerful 8-pole DC-servo motor, ensuring precise speed control with options for 33-1/3 and 45 RPM vinyl playback. Users can fine-tune speed adjustments by ± 5%. The turntable has a diameter of 308 mm and is matched with a stroboscope for accurate speed monitoring. The rumble noise ratio is rated at -73 dB, demonstrating low background noise for enhanced audio clarity. It supports a Pickering XSV-3000 MM cartridge with an effective weight including the needle of 5 g, and a frequency response from 10 Hz to 20,000 Hz. The dynamically balanced, straight tonearm features T4P plug-in connection and has an effective length of 222 mm, permitting a tracking error of ± 1.5 degrees.
