The C.E.C. HD 53 N is a compact, fully-balanced headphone amplifier designed for diverse headphone types, including dynamic and orthodynamic models. The front panel includes two combined connectors for balanced and unbalanced headphones, selectable output gain levels, and a compact LCD for displaying input and output modes. The rear panel connects to both XLR and RCA inputs for line connections, along with speaker terminals for enhanced versatility. Inside, the HD 53 N employs proprietary technologies such as Load Effect Free (LEF) circuitry, which minimizes feedback loops to preserve sound quality, and Intelligent Gain Management (IGM) for efficient volume control. The amplifier can deliver up to 4.7 watts per channel at 32 ohms in balanced mode. It is particularly well-suited for high-impedance headphones and aims to provide a dynamic, low-distortion sound across a variety of listening scenarios. Notable specifications include a frequency response of 20Hz-20kHz, an output voltage of RCA 2V max and XLR 4V max, and a power consumption of 16W.
