The FiiO FA7S is an all-balanced armature in-ear monitor featuring six Knowles balanced armature drivers per side, designed to deliver a balanced sound signature. The earphones utilize a three-way crossover system, ensuring that each frequency range—low, mid, and high—is handled efficiently and with minimal interference between drivers. Notably, the low frequencies are managed by a pair of Knowles HODVTEC 31618 drivers, while the highs are taken care of by Knowles 33518 drivers, with a custom mid-range driver specifically designed for FiiO. The FA7S is constructed from medical-grade 316L stainless steel, processed using a sintering method, making it both durable and visually striking with a polished finish. The design features Y-shaped elements and a distinct tri-circular faceplate. Furthermore, the cable system is modular, allowing for interchangeable plugs (3.5mm, 2.5mm, and 4.4mm), and is made from a high-purity monocrystalline silver-plated copper for optimal audio performance. With a nominal impedance of 18Ω and sensitivity of 111 dB/mW, the FA7S is easy to drive with portable devices. The sound signature is characterized by a warm low end, articulate mids, and smooth treble that is well-extended while maintaining naturalness.
