The Jamo J 253 is a floorstanding loudspeaker manufactured by Jamo from 1981 to 1982 in Denmark. This speaker integrates a 3-way design featuring four speakers, offering an engaging auditory experience. The J 253 boasts a robust bass reflex system with a large 400 mm cone woofer that delivers powerful low frequencies. It also includes a 50 mm dome midrange driver and two 25 mm dome tweeters to cover the mid and high-frequency ranges with clarity. The speaker has an impressive frequency response, extending from 22 Hz to 20,000 Hz, making it capable of reproducing a wide range of audio content. The transitional ranges are set at 650 Hz and 5,000 Hz. Nominal power handling is rated at 150 W, with a music power capacity of up to 250 W. The impedance of the speaker is 8 Ohm, which is standard for such audio components. Additional features include level controls for treble and midrange that can be adjusted separately for left and right speakers, as well as an overload protection system for both the tweeter and midrange driver. The speaker is available in walnut and black stain finishes and has dimensions of 760 x 470 x 330 mm (HxWxD) with a weight of 30 kg. The original retail price was approximately 1,200 DM.
