JVC is a brand that specializes in HiFi audio and video equipment.

The JVC MF-55 LS is a compact audio system from 1976, showcasing technology and design elements characteristic of the era. This system includes a cassette deck with a one-motor unit and mechanically controlled transport, featuring manual equalization and bias selection for various tape types including Normal, Fe-Cr, and Chrome tapes. Recording levels are adjustable using two needle-type VU meters. Unlike many of its counterparts, the MF-55 LS utilizes JVC's proprietary noise reduction system called ANRS (Automatic Noise Reduction System) along with Super ANRS, instead of the common Dolby system. The turntable is a manual, belt-driven unit equipped with an S-tonearm and comes with a JVC cartridge. The radio section boasts an acrylic tuning scale that elegantly spans the unit's front, enhancing its aesthetic appeal. The amplifier section delivers a power output of 25 watts per channel at 4 ohms, featuring two sets of loudspeaker connections—one for DIN plugs and another for bare wire connections. Despite its simple component design, the JVC MF-55 LS is noted for delivering a satisfying audio performance, making it appreciated even many years after its release.
