The JVC SX-7 is a sophisticated bookshelf speaker system that was initially released in the early 1970s. Designed for high-performance audio reproduction, it features a carefully engineered three-way, three-speaker configuration. The speaker integrates advanced materials and technologies for optimal sound quality. The low-frequency driver is a 30 cm cone type made from KDU cone paper, which emphasizes internal loss and produces beautiful sound. This design is complemented by a unique Konica Le Dome to reduce split vibrations and a specially designed magnetic circuit that minimizes distortion. For mid-range frequencies, the SX-7 employs a 7.5 cm soft dome type driver, while a smaller 3 cm soft dome type tweeter handles high frequencies. This combination delivers a comprehensive audio experience, covering a frequency range from 25 Hz to 20 kHz. The cabinet is constructed with precision, using Douglas-fir plywood for its innate vibration damping properties, contributing to the overall acoustic performance. The rear baffle includes a concave soundbar to enhance tension and improve vibration damping. With a nominal impedance of 4 ohms and a maximum input power rating of 100W, the SX-7 produces an output sound pressure level of 91 dB/W/m. Crossover frequencies are set at 450 Hz and 4000 Hz, and it features a level control that allows continuous adjustment. Its external dimensions are 356 mm in width, 633 mm in height, and 328 mm in depth, weighing 24 kg.
