Founded in January 2007 by David Reid in Metro Vancouver, British Columbia, Kanto Audio emerged from Reid's experience in the telecommunications industry and understanding of Canadian design coupled with offshore manufacturing. Originally establishing itself through OEM product design for other manufacturers, Kanto gained early recognition with an award-winning Apple docking station in 2007. Based in Langley, BC, with operations extending to Coquitlam, the company operates under the broader Kanto Living brand umbrella. Under CEO and Chief Product Officer David Reid's continued leadership, alongside key executives including CFO Jason Tong, General Manager Josh Nadeau, VP of Business Development Eric Smith, and Director of Engineering Rob Maudsley, Kanto specializes in all-in-one powered bookshelf speakers requiring no external amplification. The company's comprehensive product portfolio includes the YU, YU2, YU4, YU6, ORA, ORA4, REN, and flagship TUK speaker series, along with AV mounting solutions, digital media systems, home entertainment furniture, and audio/video accessories.
