The Luxman T-50A is an AM/FM stereo tuner introduced in October 1979, designed to deliver high-quality reception with a focus on performance and stability. It incorporates the closed-loop locked (CLL) tuning system, which ensures accurate tuning by locking the various stages of the tuner to the transmission frequency of the FM station. The tuner features an Accu-Touch mechanism for precise tuning, enabling it to achieve stable reception without frequent adjustments. The front-end uses MOS FET technology for better interference rejection, and the IF (intermediate frequency) stage includes selectable bandwidth to balance low distortion and high selectivity. Additionally, the tuner has a built-in FM muting level control that allows users to adjust sensitivity levels based on the received signal strength. The T-50A is equipped with signal strength indicators and a center indicator to assist with tuning. Its audio performance metrics include a distortion factor of 0.1% in stereo mode and a signal-to-noise ratio of 75 dB.
