The McIntosh C2800 is a vacuum tube preamplifier that blends traditional analog warmth with advanced digital capabilities. This preamp is equipped with four visible vacuum tubes (3 × 12AX7A and 1 × 12AT7) which contribute to its rich audio output. It features a well-structured interface with 16 inputs: 7 analog (including 2 phono, adjustable for Moving Coil or Moving Magnet) and 7 digital inputs powered by an audiophile-grade Quad Balanced, 8-channel, 32-bit Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC). The C2800 supports high-resolution audio formats, decoding digital music up to 24-bit/192kHz, and accommodates DSD512 via the USB input. The unique Processor Loop allows for the connection of external processing devices without disturbing the signal path between the preamp and amplifier, facilitating an innovative listening experience.
