The Monitor Audio Silver 8 is a three-way floorstanding loudspeaker designed for high-performance audio reproduction. It features an improved C-CAM (Ceramic-Coated Aluminium/Magnesium) Gold Dome tweeter with a damped rear chamber and innovative dome venting technique, ensuring enhanced clarity and a wider operating bandwidth. The speaker is equipped with a specially developed 4-inch mid-range driver using an 'under-hung' voice coil and motor system. This design keeps the voice coil in the magnetic gap for extremely low distortion, which contributes to better damping and mid-range clarity. The dual 6-inch bass drivers utilize a concave 'dished' C-CAM cone profile which incorporates Rigid Surface Technology (RST) for improved diaphragm rigidity and reduced distortion. The cabinet features HiVe II port technology, optimizing airflow for better transient response and delivering tighter bass. The Silver 8 utilizes a rigid 20mm MDF construction with radial and cross-bracing techniques to minimize cabinet coloration. It is available in premium wood veneers or high gloss finishes and comes with invisible magnetic grille fixings for aesthetic appeal. The speaker's frequency response spans from 32Hz to 35kHz, with a sensitivity rating of 90dB, a maximum sound pressure level of 116.8dB (pair), and requires an amplifier power of 80 - 200W. The crossover frequencies are set at 500Hz for LF/MF and 2.7kHz for MF/HF, and it features a terminal panel at floor level for easy connection. The dimensions (H x W x D) of the cabinet are 1000 x 185 x 300 mm (39 3/8 x 7 5/16 x 11 13/16 inches), with a weight of 23.33 kg (51 lb 6 oz).
