29 March 2025 by Mike Danyk

Arcam has rolled out a significant software update for a wide range of its AV receivers and streaming devices, including the SA30 and ST60 models. This update introduces Hi-Res Tidal streaming capabilities and enhances eARC performance on AV receivers, delivering a superior audio experience for enthusiasts.

The firmware update enables Tidal Connect, allowing high-resolution audio streaming up to 192kHz/24-bit on the SA30 streaming amplifier and the standalone ST60 streamer. Additionally, improvements to eARC via HDMI 2.1 on select AV receivers ensure better integration and performance with compatible audio/video systems.

Users can download the updates from the Arcam website and install them using a USB device. Arcam is also working on enabling over-the-air updates for added convenience, although a specific timeline has not been provided. This initiative highlights Arcam's dedication to supporting and enhancing their products long after their initial release.

Currently, the update is available for AV receivers including the HDA AVR11, AVR21, AVR31, and AV41, as well as the HDMI 2.1 versions of AVR5, AVR10, AVR20, AVR30, and AV40. Final testing for HDMI 2.0 models is expected to be completed in the first half of 2025, ensuring a broad range of devices receive these valuable enhancements.
