Cayin introduces the MT-35 Mk3, a modern integrated tube amplifier that seamlessly blends classic tube sound with contemporary functionalities. Building upon its predecessor, the MT-35 Mk3 offers enhanced connectivity with three RCA line inputs and integrated Bluetooth 5.1, supporting high-quality codecs such as AAC, aptX HD, and LDAC for superior wireless audio streaming.
Powered by a class AB design, the MT-35 Mk3 delivers 2 x 36 watts in ultra-linear mode, utilizing four EL34 output tubes. These are complemented by 12AX7 and 12AU7 preamp tubes, all housed in a meticulously hand-wired point-to-point circuit. This construction, along with specially developed output transformers, ensures a balanced and detailed sound profile that appeals to discerning audiophiles seeking both warmth and precision.
Flexibility is a key feature of the MT-35 Mk3, offering users the option to switch between ultra-linear and triode modes. While ultra-linear mode provides robust power and dynamic range, triode mode reduces the output to 2 x 18 watts, delivering a more refined and puristic audio experience. Additionally, the amplifier accommodates various speaker impedances with separate connections for 4 and 8 Ohm speakers and allows for easy tube replacement with compatible alternatives such as 6CA7, 6L6, or 5881.
Aesthetically, the MT-35 Mk3 boasts a retro-inspired design with an illuminated VU meter that not only enhances its classic look but also assists in precise bias adjustment of the output tubes. Front-mounted headphone jack supports a wide range of impedances from 16 to 300 Ohm, catering to both casual listeners and headphone enthusiasts. The amplifier’s dimensions are compact at 326 x 278 x 184 millimeters, and it weighs 13.5 kilograms, making it a versatile addition to any audio setup.
Scheduled for release in March 2025, the Cayin MT-35 Mk3 will initially feature a silver front fascia, followed by a black version in April 2025. Priced just below €1,600, the MT-35 Mk3 positions itself as a compelling choice for those seeking the rich, immersive qualities of tube amplification combined with modern connectivity and adaptability.
