You know that feeling when a company really listens to what the community wants? Well, NAD Electronics just did that. They're set to unveil their new Modular Series at ISE 2025 in Barcelona, and it's looking like a big step forward for custom installations.

The Modular Series comprises three new components, all designed with integrators in mind and packed into an ultra-compact 1/3U width by 1U height form factor:

  • NAD CI S1 Single Zone Streamer: A versatile streamer aimed at delivering seamless music playback in single-zone setups.
  • NAD CI SA2-120 BluOS Streaming Amplifier: A powerful amplifier with BluOS integration, perfect for high-resolution audio streaming across multiple rooms.
  • NAD CI PA4-60 Four-Channel Power Amplifier: A reliable and scalable power amplifier optimized for increased efficiency in various installations.

Being part of the BluOS ecosystem, these new components promise high-res music streaming and multi-zone audio management through an intuitive interface. The BluOS platform is known for its stability and seamless integration with leading control systems, so it's exciting to see NAD leveraging this in their latest offerings.

The Modular Series aims to provide the flexibility needed for both new installations and upgrading existing audio systems. It's expected to start shipping in July 2025, which gives us something to look forward to this summer.

But that's not all. NAD is also updating their well-regarded CI DSP amplifier range, including the CI 8-150 DSP, CI 8-120 DSP, and CI 16-60 DSP models. The updates focus on user interface improvements and expanded DSP capabilities.

Some highlights of the updates include:

  • An upgraded, intuitive control panel for real-time status monitoring, making it easier to keep tabs on system performance.
  • An improved Zones page that simplifies channel grouping, adds sleep functions for individual zones, and offers global input flexibility.
  • Enhanced DSP features like limiters, delay, and phase control, which should make integrating subwoofers into setups more seamless.
  • Better layout and power management, password protection, faster boot-up times, and expanded third-party API integration for remote monitoring.

Combining the new Modular Series with the updated DSP amplifiers, NAD seems to be making a strong push to equip integrators with tools that meet the latest demands in audio system design. It feels like they're really focusing on efficiency and flexibility without compromising on the audio quality they're known for.

For those attending ISE 2025, it might be worth swinging by NAD Electronics to check out these new offerings. It's always interesting to see how companies innovate to keep up with the evolving needs of custom installations.
