T+A has unveiled the Symphonia, a high-end streaming amplifier that marries nostalgic retro design with cutting-edge audio technology. Featuring handcrafted VU meters and a minimalist aluminum chassis, the Symphonia pays homage to classic hi-fi equipment while integrating modern functionalities. Available in sleek silver or black finishes, the amplifier measures 38 x 10 x 34 cm and is slated for shipping in April 2025 with a price tag of $9,990.
At the heart of the Symphonia lies T+A’s third-generation Audiophile Streaming Architecture (ASA G3), which supports a wide array of streaming services including Deezer, Qobuz, Amazon Music HD, and Tidal. It also accommodates high-resolution local network files up to 384/32 PCM and DSD 256, with USB DAC mode extending support to 768/32 PCM and DSD512. Connectivity options are robust, featuring Ethernet, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth aptX HD, Apple AirPlay 2, and upcoming Roon Ready certification.
The amplifier boasts a powerful performance output of 125 watts per channel into 8 Ohms and 250 watts into 4 Ohms, delivered through T+A’s customized Class D Purifi Eigentakt module. This module is powered by the innovative Sine power supply, which utilizes a high-frequency sine wave to minimize interference, ensuring a clean and stable power delivery. The DAC architecture is meticulously designed with separate pathways for PCM and DSD signals, including a dedicated 1-bit converter for native DSD processing.
Additional features enhance the Symphonia’s versatility, including multiple analog and digital inputs such as phono inputs for MM and MC cartridges, TOSLINK, coaxial digital, and USB-C ports for DACs and storage devices. The front panel is equipped with a quarter-inch headphone socket and supports wired headphone connections alongside Bluetooth streaming. For audio enthusiasts seeking optimal performance, the Symphonia also offers pre-amplifier outputs and dual subwoofer outputs with a low-pass filter at 250Hz.
Overall, the T+A Symphonia stands out as a sophisticated integration of vintage aesthetics and modern streaming prowess, tailored for audiophiles who demand both elegance and uncompromised sound quality. Its comprehensive technical specifications and premium build position it as a formidable contender in the high-end streaming amplifier market.
