Equipped with 40-mm drivers, supporting frequencies from 20 Hz to 20 kHz.
Offers versatile connectivity with Bluetooth 5.4, wired 3.5-mm jack, and multiple codec compatibility.
Yamaha is set to launch its latest full-size headphones, the YH-L500A, in Japan on April 24. Priced at approximately 25,000 yen, these headphones build upon the foundation of their predecessor, the YH-L700A, with several notable enhancements aimed at delivering an exceptional audio experience.
The YH-L500A introduces Yamaha's proprietary Sound Field Mode, which creates a spacious and immersive soundstage from standard stereo signals. While this mode enhances the listening experience, it does not include the head-tracking technology found in the YH-L700A, which previously allowed for dynamic vertical sound distribution based on head movements. Despite this, the Sound Field Mode remains a standout feature for audiophiles seeking depth and immersion in their audio playback.
Technical specifications highlight the YH-L500A's capabilities, featuring 40-mm drivers that cover a frequency range from 20 Hz to 20 kHz. Connectivity options are robust, supporting both wired connections via a 3.5-mm jack and wireless connections through Bluetooth 5.4. The headphones are compatible with multiple codecs, including SBC, AAC, LC3, and aptX Adaptive, ensuring high-quality audio streaming and clear voice calls. Additionally, a low-latency mode is available to maintain lip-sync accuracy during gaming and video streaming.
Comfort has been a key focus in the design of the YH-L500A, with an optimized headband and soft earcups designed for long listening sessions. Weighing 265 grams and measuring 174.51 mm in length, 188.47 mm in width, and 84.86 mm in height, these headphones strike a balance between durability and lightweight comfort. The built-in battery offers up to 20 hours of playback on a single charge, which takes approximately two hours to fully recharge.
Managed through Yamaha's Headphone Control mobile application, users can easily adjust settings and personalize their listening experience. The YH-L500A promises to cater to both home theater enthusiasts and music lovers, providing versatile performance without the need for active voice in marketing materials.
