The Nikko D 403 is an active crossover that was manufactured between 1976 and 1978 in Japan. Designed for use in audio systems, this unit features an elegant silver and black finish and has no remote control functionality. The device consumes 15 watts of power and has dimensions of 482 x 63 x 330 mm (WxHxD), weighing in at 5 kg. The D 403 includes one line input with a high input impedance of 100 kOhm and provides four outputs for different frequency ranges: Low (190 Ohm), Mid-Low (90 Ohm), Mid-High (90 Ohm), and High (70 Ohm). The maximum output voltage is rated at 10 volts, with a maximum output impedance of 4 kOhm. It boasts an impressive frequency response of 10 Hz to 100 kHz with a minimal distortion factor of 0.005% across the standard audio range of 20 Hz to 20 kHz at 1V. The signal-to-noise ratio is 100 dB at 1V output, and stereo channel separation is rated at 50 dB for high outputs. The crossover frequencies are adjustable, allowing for fine-tuning at numerous points, including specific settings for low, mid-low, mid-high, and high frequencies. The slope of the crossover can also be selected to be either 12 dB or 18 dB per octave. Additionally, the D 403 has a feature for switching between 2-way and 3-way setups, accommodating a variety of system configurations.
