The Ortofon MC 200 is a low-output moving coil (MC) cartridge developed in the mid-1980s, designed primarily for use with ultra-light tonearms, particularly the DUAL-ULM tonearms. This cartridge features a gold exterior and has a total weight of 2.3 grams, which can increase to 5.3 grams with an optional additional weight. The MC 200 offers impressive specifications, including a frequency response range of 20 Hz to 35,000 Hz with a tolerance of ±2 dB and a wider frequency range extending from 5 Hz to 50,000 Hz. The scanning capability measures 80 µm at 315Hz in the lateral direction, showcasing its ability to accurately track grooves. Crosstalk attenuation is better than 25 dB at 1000Hz, and it has an output voltage of 0.9V.
