The Pioneer CT-S 440 S is a cassette tape deck that was manufactured between 1995 and 1996 in Japan. It features a sleek black design and has a power consumption of 16 watts. This model is equipped with two sound heads and two motors, delivering impressive performance with synchronous fluctuations of ±0.07%/0.18% WRMS/DIN. It supports various tape types including Type I, II, and IV. The frequency response is rated at 25 Hz to 17 kHz ±6 dB for Type I and II tapes, and up to 18 kHz for Type IV tapes, ensuring clear and dynamic sound reproduction. The distortion factor is below 1% at -4 dB, while the signal-to-noise ratio exceeds 57 dB without Dolby noise reduction. The unit also supports Dolby B, C, and S formats, enhancing the audio quality further. Special features include a title search function, CD synchro recording, and a manual fader. Additionally, the unit includes the SUPER AUTO BLE measuring computer for bias, level, and EQ adjustments, and a Flex function for automatic sound equalization for muffled recordings. The display can be switched off for user convenience.
