The Pioneer CT-S 450 S is a cassette deck that features a single loading mechanism, launched in 1996 and manufactured in Japan. The unit is designed with a sleek black finish and measures 420 x 125 x 280 mm, weighing approximately 3.8 kg. It operates with a power consumption of 16 watts, making it efficient for home audio systems. The cassette deck supports various tape types including Type I, II, and IV, with a frequency response of 25 - 17000 Hz for Type I and II, and extending to 25 - 18000 Hz for Type IV. The total harmonic distortion for audio playback is less than 1% at -4dB, and the signal-to-noise ratio exceeds 57 dB without Dolby, with enhanced ratios provided by Dolby B, C, and S noise reduction systems. Special features of the CT-S 450 S include a SUPER AUTO BLE metering computer for adjusting bias, level, and equalization; automatic tape type selection; title search functionality; and a timer switch. Although it lacks an auto-reverse feature, it offers manual fader control and CD synchro recording capabilities. The cassette deck has a dual-motor design and uses two sound heads, ensuring high-quality playback and recording.
