The Pioneer SX-34 is a solid-state stereo receiver manufactured between 1968 and 1970 in Japan. It features a silver front panel, giving it a classic appearance representative of the era. Weighing 10.5 kg and measuring 402 x 139 x 360 mm in dimensions, it is compact enough for various home audio setups. The SX-34 has a notable power output of 2x 11 watts into 8 ohms, with dynamic power reaching up to 34 watts. It boasts a low total harmonic distortion of less than 2% at 1 kHz, ensuring clean audio playback. The frequency response is impressive, covering a range from 30 Hz to 20 kHz within ± 3 dB. Additionally, the receiver includes tone controls for bass and treble, allowing adjustments of ± 10 dB at 50 Hz and ± 7 dB at 10 kHz, respectively. It features a loudness control and both high and low filters for added auditory refinement. The tuner part of the receiver can receive FM and MW frequencies, with FM sensitivity at 2.5µV and MW at 28µV, and offers a signal-to-noise ratio of over 60 dB. Various input connections are available, including phono inputs for ceramic and MM cartridges, aux, and tape inputs. The SX-34 does not include remote control capabilities. It is regarded for its vintage aesthetics and performance, making it a desirable piece for vintage audio enthusiasts.
