The Scott A406 is a stereo amplifier manufactured in Japan between 1975 and 1977. It features a silver front panel design and has a power consumption of 70 watts. With dimensions of 350 mm in width, 125 mm in height, and 285 mm in depth, it weighs 6.8 kg. The original price was approximately 450 DM. It does not include a remote control. The amplifier offers multiple inputs, including two Phono MM inputs, a tuner input, and auxiliary connections, all of which are designed for different signal levels. The output is equipped for two pairs of speakers and includes tape record outputs. In terms of sound performance, the A406 delivers 15 watts per channel at 8 Ohms and has a total harmonic distortion of less than 0.3%. Its frequency response ranges from 20 Hz to 30 kHz with a signal-to-noise ratio of 75 dB for high-level inputs. Tone control features allow adjustments of bass and treble by ± 12 dB, and a loudness function can boost volume at specified frequencies. This model belongs to a series that includes the A416, A426, and A436, with a corresponding tuner model, the Scott T 516L.
