The Sony TC-WR 790 is a dual cassette deck released in 1992, designed for versatile tape recording and playback. It features a twin recording re-reverse capability, allowing for simultaneous recording of two tapes with different Dolby noise reduction systems (Dolby HX Pro and Dolby B/C NR). The design includes a dual-motor configuration for each deck to ensure high performance, with separate motors for both the reel and capstan. The device utilizes a hard permalloy re-recording head for enhanced audio quality. A twin FL counter and peak level meter are integrated, providing a visual indication of audio levels with a peak hold function.
