The PA 3100 HV is an integrated amplifier that extends upon the capabilities of the PA 3000 HV, retaining most of the core sub-assemblies while introducing notable enhancements. One immediately noticeable upgrade is the addition of VU meters on the front panel, which accurately display the power output per channel in logarithmic form, measured in Watts into 4 Ohms. A significant revision in the pre-amplifier section, particularly through D.C. coupling, has also led to an improvement in overall sound quality.
The device features a redesigned analogue mains section and voltage power supply, similar to that of the A 3000 HV. This advancement allows for the connection of the supplementary PS 3000 HV mains section, boosting the system’s stability and performance. The supplementary unit offers an additional 1800 Watt of supply power, enabling the amplifier to effortlessly handle even the most demanding loudspeakers, thus ensuring optimal sound quality.
Additionally, the PA 3100 HV, as well as its predecessor the PA 3000 HV, have the option to be equipped with High-End phono pre-amplifier modules. These modules can be configured with different circuit topologies to accommodate both MM (Moving Magnet) and MC (Moving Coil) systems. Furthermore, users can install an analogue signal processor module, designed for the P 3000 HV, to enable separate channel tone and loudness adjustments.
Included with the amplifier is the all-metal F3001 infra-red remote control handset, providing users with convenient and reliable control over their audio setup.
