The Technics SL-5210 is a semi-automatic record player, manufactured in Japan between 1978 and 1979. It features a sleek black cabinet design and incorporates a servo-controlled direct drive motor which enhances its performance in playback. The turntable is made from injection molded aluminum, with a diameter of 304 mm, ensuring stability and fidelity in sound reproduction. The power consumption is specified, and the overall dimensions of the unit are 430 x 130 x 376 mm (WxHxD), with a weight of 7.1 kg. This model is equipped with the Technics EPC-206 C moving magnet cartridge as standard, and it supports outputs via cinch (red/white) as well as a GND connection. The tonearm is designed in an S-shape and is statically balanced, with a tracking force adjustment range from 0 to 2.5 g. The SL-5210 also features an adjustable anti-skating device and viscosity damped tonearm control. It can operate at speeds of 33 ⅓ and 45 rpm, with a synchronous speed fluctuation of 0.025%, and a rumble noise ratio of -56 dB (DIN 45539A) and -78 dB (DIN 45539B). The effective length of the tonearm is 230 mm, with an overhang of 15 mm and a permissible track misalignment angle of +2°32. The unit was originally priced at approximately 498 DM.
