Apple Introduces Real-Time Translation Feature in Upcoming AirPods Update

Technically, the translation capability leverages Apple's robust processing power within the iOS ecosystem. The AirPods act as the audio interface, capturing speech and delivering translated output, while the connected iPhone handles the linguistic processing. Although specific language support has yet to be announced, the feature is expected to cover a wide range of major languages, similar to existing translation tools in the market.

This addition places Apple in the competitive landscape alongside Google’s Pixel Buds, which introduced live translation in 2017 and expanded it with the Pixel Buds Pro in 2022.
