Aedon Audio was an Italian high-end speaker manufacturer active during the 1990s, specializing in passive loudspeakers with their Natural Perspective System (NPS) technology. The company produced several acclaimed models including the NPS 1 bookshelf speakers featuring Seas and ScanSpeak drivers, the larger NPS 2 with enhanced bass response, and the flagship NPS 1000 floorstanding system. Working with designer Renato Giussani, Aedon developed innovative acoustic solutions addressing standing waves, cabinet vibrations, and room interaction. Their speakers commanded premium prices in Italian lira, positioning them in the high-end market segment. The NPS 1000 Insignis, later developed by Giussani-Research, demonstrated Aedon's legacy with its ability to recreate full dynamic range and acoustic scenes of live performances. While Aedon Audio ceased operations after the 1990s, their contributions to Italian high-end audio engineering remain recognized among vintage audio enthusiasts.
