Founded in 1989 by Michael Kelly and David Marshall near Boston, Massachusetts, Aerial Acoustics was incorporated in 1991. Michael Kelly, the President and Designer, holds a Physics degree from NC State and an MBA from MIT Sloan School. Previously Executive VP at ADS, Kelly's vision was inspired by German Mittelstanden artisan enterprises. The company designs, engineers, and assembles all products at their Massachusetts factory north of Boston. Their first product, the Model 10T with Novalith stone head and Kevlar midrange, won Stereophile's Speaker of the Year in 1996. Aerial uses custom-made drivers from Denmark, Norway, USA, and Germany, maintaining American manufacturing while sourcing premium global components for high-performance loudspeakers.
