Air Tight is a Japanese high-end audio manufacturer founded in 1986 by Atsushi Miura, former head of Lux Audio, and his engineering partner Masami Ishiguro under the company name A&M Limited. The company specializes in handcrafted vacuum tube amplifiers and precision phono cartridges, operating from their facility in Takatsuki, Osaka (between Kyoto and Osaka). Known for their uncompromising approach to analog audio design when semiconductors dominated the market, Air Tight has become legendary among audiophiles worldwide for their reference-quality tube amplifiers like the ATM-1 and precision moving-coil cartridges. The company continues to operate today under the management of Yutaka 'Jack' Miura, son of founder Atsushi Miura, maintaining their philosophy of PCB-free point-to-point hand-wiring and meticulous craftsmanship.
