Alchemist

Alchemist Products was a distinctive British HiFi manufacturer that operated from 1989-2001, founded by former Musical Fidelity employees. Known for innovative amplifiers, tuners, and CD players with striking retro styling and gothic aesthetics. Famous products included the bat-winged Kraken amplifier (especially in hammered green finish), Forseti flagship models, and the Genesis, Freya, Odin, Nemesis, and Axiom ranges. Featured solid metal faceplates in brushed silver with brass switchgear, distinctive cooling fins, and grab handles. Despite its short lifespan, the company earned respect for build quality and 'sweet analog sound' from Class A designs with dual mono circuitry. Company ceased operations at decade's end but maintains archive website for former customers.
