Founded in 2015 by Jan Ove Lassesen, a Norwegian electronics engineer born and raised in Arendal in 1978, Arendal Sound emerged from a lifelong passion for audio that began working in his father's electronics store at age 14. After studying electronics for 8 years, graduating with an engineering degree, and spending time in the oil industry, Lassesen established L-Sound in 2005 as a B2C retailer for Hi-Fi and home cinema equipment before realizing his dream of developing speakers with the launch of Arendal Sound. Based in Arendal, Norway, the company specializes in Norwegian-engineered precision speakers and subwoofers designed for discerning music and movie enthusiasts, offering direct-to-consumer sales with transparent pricing, 60-day home audition periods, and 10-year warranties. The company's product lineup includes the flagship 1528 Series representing the pinnacle of Nordic engineering innovation, the THX Ultra certified 1723 Series for large rooms, and the compact 1723 S Series delivering full-size sound in smaller spaces. Operating as a fully remote team of 30+ employees with a 'Freedom & Responsibility' philosophy rooted in Norwegian-friendly culture, Arendal Sound has gained international recognition through awards and features in major audio publications while maintaining their mission to 'enrich people's lives through the power of quality sound' and showcase Norwegian craftsmanship to the global audio community.
