Audiomeca was a prestigious French high-end audio manufacturer founded by Pierre Lurné in 1979, renowned for innovative turntables, tonearms, and CD players. Lurné, who had designed his first tonearm in 1968 at age 20 and previously designed Goldmund linear tracking arms, operated the company for 32 years from France. The analog range included the Romance turntable with Romeo tonearm, plus the final Belladonna turntable and Septum arm designed in 2007. From 1993, Audiomeca expanded into cutting-edge CD players and D/A converters including the acclaimed Mephisto and Keops models. Pierre Lurné retired around 2010-2011, with the last products designed in 2007, marking the end of new production after three decades of audiophile innovation. While no longer manufacturing new products, Audiomeca's turntables and digital sources remain highly sought-after on the second-hand market, testament to their exceptional engineering and lasting musical performance in the high-end audio community.
