Avalanche Audio

Avalanche Audio was a Finnish high-end loudspeaker manufacturer founded in 1989 in Joensuu, Finland. Known for their flagship AS1 active 3-way speakers featuring unique pentagonal soapstone cabinets weighing 86kg each, using Dynaudio and Audax drivers with Linkwitz-Riley crossovers. The extremely expensive speakers (28,000 Deutsche Marks) were produced until 2000 when production ceased, later managed by Oy Flinkstone Ltd. The brand is notable for pioneering soapstone cabinet construction for acoustic damping. Production ended circa 2000, making this a vintage boutique brand.
