Balanced Audio Technology (BAT) is a distinguished American high-end audio equipment manufacturer founded in 1993 by Victor Khomenko and Steve Bednarski in Wilmington, Delaware. The company launched its first products, the VK-5 preamplifier and VK-60 power amplifier, at the Winter Consumer Electronics Show in January 1995. BAT has built a 25-year legacy specializing in fully balanced tube and solid-state power amplifiers, preamplifiers, and phono preamps sold in over 40 countries. Every product is hand-built in their Delaware factory by a small team of dedicated craftsmen and technicians. The company was acquired by Music Direct/Mobile Fidelity in 2013, though founders Khomenko and Bednarski remain at the helm. BAT is renowned for their fully balanced circuit designs, zero global feedback approach, and innovative technologies like the 6H30 SuperTube and Unistage circuit. Notable recent releases include the VK-85 preamplifier and REX 300 power amplifier launched in 2024.
