Cardas Audio was founded in 1987 in Ontario, California, by George Cardas, a former telephone company line engineer with expertise in audio transmission over cable. The company initially operated from George's garage before moving to an industrial park and eventually relocating to Bandon, Oregon in 1992. Cardas Audio specializes in manufacturing premium high-end audio cables, connectors, and accessories using proprietary technology including multi-stranded Litz conductors with Golden Ratio scaling to eliminate micro-resonance. George Cardas holds two US patents (4,980,517 & 4,628,151) for his cable and conductor designs, plus patent US7674973B2 for the Matched Propagation Conductor. The company remains a family business, now run by George's youngest daughter Angela Cardas as Chief Operations Officer, while George focuses on product design. Located in Bandon, Oregon (population 3,321), the company employs approximately 15 people and manufactures all products at their headquarters using ultra-pure copper conductors.
