Clarion was a Japanese automotive electronics manufacturer founded in 1940 as Hakuson Wireless Electric Company, becoming the world's first company to produce a car radio (model A-214) in 1951. Originally known for car stereos, navigation systems, and in-car entertainment systems. Acquired by French automotive supplier Faurecia in March 2019 and renamed to Faurecia Clarion Electronics in 2021. Now focuses primarily on OEM automotive cockpit systems, display technologies, and ADAS solutions rather than aftermarket consumer audio products. Headquartered in Tokyo, Japan.
