Coral Audio Corporation was a Tokyo-based Japanese manufacturer founded probably in the 1950s, with documented existence by 1958. The company specialized in high-quality loudspeaker drivers and components that were widely used by many well-known Japanese and German manufacturers from the late 1960s onward. Coral gained an excellent reputation for producing superior speaker drivers that were popular in both the professional market and high-end DIY audio market. Some manufacturing was handled by Fukuyo Sound Company LTD in Japan. The company was particularly known for their 'flat pack' speaker kits sold by hi-fi stores during the mid-1970s. Unfortunately, Coral Audio went bankrupt in the mid-1980s, with some reports indicating acquisition by Mitsubishi Corporation. Despite being defunct for nearly 40 years, Coral's vintage drivers remain highly sought after by audio enthusiasts for their exceptional quality and durability.
