DLS

DLS (DLS Svenska AB) is a Swedish privately-owned audio company founded in 1979 by three entrepreneurs: Dawid, Leif, and Stefan. Originally established around the invention of a state-of-the-art police radio receiver that could scan all frequencies without crystals, the company produced 100,000 receivers until 1998. In 1985-1986, DLS pivoted to the car audio industry, introducing their first lineup of loudspeakers and amplifiers to the Swedish market. The company pioneered the 'component kit' system in car audio during 1983-1985. Headquartered in Gothenburg, Sweden, with operations also in Örebro, DLS specializes in premium car audio, home audio, and marine audio systems. All R&D is conducted at their Gothenburg head office by founders Dawid Koniarski and Mats Andersen, with Andersen holding a degree in acoustics from Chalmers University of Technology. The company maintains exceptional build quality and high performance as their signature approach, and is now represented in more than 50 countries worldwide.
