Contour 30i takes you back to a time when the next track on the album was all that mattered. As an upgrade from the 20i, the Contour 30i retains its commitment to honesty, transparency, and sheer entertainment but offers these qualities in a larger package.

Like the other members of the Contour i family, the Contour 30i features the Esotar 2i tweeter, complete with the Hexis inner dome, which is a hallmark of the flagship Confidence range and the Core series of professional studio reference monitors. The Esotar 2i also includes a larger rear chamber, and combined with the Hexis, it effectively reduces unwanted resonances, resulting in clearer and sweeter high frequencies.

Behind the scenes, the Contour 30i boasts two 18cm MSP drivers and dual rear ports. The spider suspension – the springy ring that keeps the woofer in position at rest and guides it properly during movement – has been tweaked and is crafted from aramid fibers. This updated suspension retains the structural properties of its predecessors with ribs of varying width, enabling finer control over the cone's excursion.

The Contour 30i continues to utilize aluminum voice coils, which are notably lighter yet larger than traditional copper units found elsewhere. The lighter weight allows for larger diameters and more windings without increasing the overall weight, ensuring better control over cone movement. This control is critical for sound quality, especially at high frequencies and volumes, essential features in a mid/bass driver. Although smaller voice coils were considered for Contour i, extensive listening tests proved that the larger coils provided superior performance.

The redefined frequency response from the enhanced tweeter and mid/bass drivers has allowed for a simplified crossover design. The crossover, while elegant before, no longer requires impedance correction circuitry due to the physical properties of the materials used, resulting in fewer components, a cleaner signal path, and enhanced performance.

While the engineers and designers meticulously balanced the sound across various genres, the on-site factory team ensured that the materials and finishes were sustainably sourced. Every Contour i product meets furniture-grade standards: impeccably built, flawlessly finished, and meticulously packaged.
