Contour 60

The Contour 60 is designed for those who have larger listening rooms or simply enjoy playing their music at higher volumes. Commanding and clear-cut, this loudspeaker becomes a trusted companion with its distinctive midrange driver. Building on the beloved designs of the Contour 20 and 30, the Contour 60 represents an even grander project for our designers.

A three-way design forms the foundational architecture of the Contour 60. At its base, two 23cm MSP woofers handle the lower frequencies, functioning as larger counterparts to the 18cm drivers found in the Contour 20 and 30. Positioned at the upper end is the renowned Esotar2 soft-dome tweeter, a celebrated feature across the Contour series. Sandwiched between these elements is an entirely updated 15cm midrange driver, constructed with an aluminium voice-coil and a neodymium magnet system, optimized using Finite Element Method techniques. This custom midrange driver ensures the Contour 60 delivers its characteristic sound within a large cabinet, fulfilling its role without compromise.

Quality and consistency define the Contour series, and the Contour 60 is no exception. Each driver is powered by low-mass, high-durability aluminium voice-coils, and the tweeter’s voice-coil is immersed in a special magnetic ferrofluid. This ferrofluid acts as a shock absorber, dissipating heat to minimize stress on the moving parts, ultimately improving power handling and broadening the frequency response. These design choices translate into consistent performance at volumes that could potentially disturb your neighbors, yet offer delightful clarity and depth in your favorite room.

The Contour 60 also boasts a redesigned crossover and components, in line with the rest of the Contour series. Under the supervision of Allan Kristiansen, every aspect of construction and finish meets the highest standards, with any imperfections meticulously addressed to achieve a flawless pair of speakers. The robust, multi-layer curved cabinet and a solid aluminium baffle provide a defined acoustic foundation. The result is a listening experience so immersive that the speakers themselves might just disappear, leaving you with nothing but the pure enjoyment of your music.
