European Audio Team (E.A.T.) was founded in 2003 by Jozefina Lichtenegger as a cooperative of tube enthusiasts and engineers in Prague, Czech Republic. Lichtenegger started in audio in 1998 while pursuing her MBA at the University of Economics in Bratislava, initially working with VAIC vacuum tubes before acquiring the company in 2006. She met her future husband Heinz Lichtenegger, owner of Pro-Ject Audio, while seeking distributors for her tubes. E.A.T.'s first turntable, the Forte, was introduced in 2009 with innovative features including high-mass platters and magnetic support systems. The company has since expanded its lineup to include various turntable models (E-Flat, C-Sharp, C-Major, Prelude), cartridges, phonostages, and amplifiers. Based in Slovak Republic with European manufacturing, E.A.T. continues to operate in 2024 under Jozefina's leadership, maintaining their philosophy of bringing music lovers 'as close as possible to the meaning and spirit of the original composition.'
