Hitachi, Ltd. is a Japanese multinational conglomerate founded in 1910, headquartered in Tokyo. The company was active in HiFi audio equipment from the 1970s-1990s, producing speakers, amplifiers, and cassette decks, including acquisition of the Lo-D brand for premium HiFi devices. However, Hitachi exited consumer electronics (including audio) around 2012 and now focuses on Digital, Energy, Mobility, Industry, Healthcare, and Building Systems.
