Founded in summer 2010 by audio industry legends Sandy Gross and Don Givogue, GoldenEar Technology emerged as the most successful and award-winning new speaker brand in decades. Gross, who previously co-founded both Polk Audio and Definitive Technology and earned a place in the industry's Hall of Fame, convinced Givogue to come out of retirement to create a performance-oriented American classic. The company officially debuted at CEDIA Expo Atlanta in September 2010, driven by the founders' vision to restore entrepreneurial spirit and passion to an industry increasingly dominated by conglomerates. GoldenEar quickly gained recognition for combining superb sonic performance, elegant styling, and exceptional value across their range of tower speakers, bookshelf speakers, center-channels, and powered subwoofers. In January 2020, The Quest Group (owned by AudioQuest founder Bill Low) acquired GoldenEar, leveraging a 50-year relationship between Gross and Low. However, the company changed hands again, with PML Sound International (parent of Paradigm, Anthem, and MartinLogan) acquiring GoldenEar effective January 1, 2025. Through these transitions, GoldenEar maintains its commitment to high-performance loudspeakers for both multichannel home theaters and two-channel hi-fi systems.
