Gradiente (IGB Eletrônica) is a historic Brazilian consumer electronics company founded in 1964 and headquartered in Manaus, Brazil, with a rich heritage spanning over six decades in the Brazilian electronics market. Originally established as a comprehensive electronics manufacturer, Gradiente has produced an extensive range of products including televisions, flat panels, LCD and plasma displays, DVD players, hi-fi systems, home theater equipment, portable audio devices, mobile phones, and karaoke machines. The company achieved significant milestones including producing the Gradiente Expert line of MSX-compatible home computers (1985-1990), founding Playtronic subsidiary in 1993 to manufacture Nintendo consoles in Brazil, establishing a joint venture with Nokia in 1997 for local mobile phone production, and notably engaging in the iPhone trademark conflict after filing for the 'iphone' brand in Brazil in 2000, eventually launching their own Android-powered 'iphone neo one' smartphone in 2008. As of 2012, Gradiente employed 18,400 people with revenues of US$588.2 million, establishing themselves as 'A marca dos brasileiros' (The brand of Brazilians). Today, the company continues operations with a focus on audio equipment, kitchen appliances, home electronics, and solar energy solutions, serving Brazilian consumers with modern design and accessible pricing across multiple product categories.
