Founded in October 2015 by physicist Klaus Heinz and his son Dr. Frederik Knop, HEDD (Heinz Electrodynamic Designs) is a Berlin-based family business handcrafting professional studio monitors and headphones since 2016. Klaus Heinz, former co-founder and head of R&D at Adam Audio (until 2014), has dedicated 40+ years to loudspeaker development. Heinz innovated the compact AMT (Air Motion Transformer) driver design in the 1990s, based on German-American physicist Oskar Heil's original invention. HEDD speakers feature improved woofer designs, modern uni-body cabinets, latest ICE power amplifiers, and sophisticated HEDD Air Motion tweeters with better damping and refined filtering. The company created the first loudspeakers worldwide combining analog monitoring with full Ethernet audio protocol integration, including AES3/AES EBU, Dante Audio, and Ravenna/AES67 cards. HEDD maintains German manufacturing excellence, producing high-end professional audio equipment focused on sonic accuracy and outstanding signal fidelity.
