Heybrook is a legendary British Hi-Fi manufacturer originally founded in 1978 by Peter Comeau and Stuart Mee in Devon's Heybrook Bay area, from which the company takes its name. The company became famous for creating the iconic HB1 speakers, which made history as the first product to win three consecutive What Hi-Fi? Awards (1983, 1984, 1985). After a successful 15-year run under its original ownership, Heybrook was revived in 2022 by original designer Peter Comeau alongside co-owner Peter Farrow, who is also the founder and CEO of valve amplifier manufacturer English Acoustics. The revived company operates under High Fidelity Engineering Ltd and has successfully relaunched with the HB1 Evolution speakers in 2024, maintaining the DNA of the original design while incorporating modern innovations. All speakers are handcrafted in their Wiltshire workshop with as many components as possible sourced locally, proudly bearing Made in Britain certification.
