Jadis Electronics is a prestigious French high-end audio manufacturer founded in 1983 by André Calmettes (who passed away January 2, 2025) in Villedubert, France (Chemin du Pech, 11800). Established from Calmettes' passion for achieving the most precise musical reproduction to capture the emotion felt during live concerts, the company specializes in handcrafted tube power amplifiers, preamplifiers, integrated amplifiers, DACs, CD players, phono stages, and turntables. Jadis is renowned worldwide for their proprietary output transformers, which are entirely handmade at their Villedubert factory, hand-wound and sealed in special resin to guarantee extremely low noise operation and thermal stability. These life-guaranteed transformers, capable of handling up to 2500 watts before saturation, are considered one of the secrets of the famous Jadis sound and contribute to the amplifiers' tremendous dynamics across the entire frequency range with total lack of coloration. Most Jadis amplifiers operate in pure Class-A, offering extraordinary performance that makes them unique in the world. The company has received significant industry recognition, including The Absolute Sound's 2015 Product of the Year award for their DA88S integrated amplifier, and has been honored with 'Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant' (Living Heritage Company) status - a French state recognition for companies with outstanding craftsmanship and industrial expertise. Now led by Jean-Christophe Calmettes in R&D and design, Jadis continues the founder's vision of creating no-compromise instruments built one at a time with upgraded silver internal wiring, surgical-quality stainless steel chassis, and improved internal components, serving audiophiles globally through their international distribution network.
