Founded in 1991 by Johannes Siegler and co-founder Dieter Klein, KSdigital GmbH (operating under the KSD brand) has been developing and producing professional studio monitors and mastering speakers for over 25 years from their dedicated manufacturing plant in Saarbrücken, Germany. Under the leadership of Managing Director and founder Johannes Siegler, who studied electrical engineering with a focus on audio technology at Saarland University, the company spearheaded groundbreaking innovation by presenting the world's first digitally equalized studio monitor to the public at the Tonmeistertagung in 1996. Co-founder Ing. Dieter Klein brings decades of experience developing and building active loudspeakers for sound reinforcement since 1975, having previously worked with KS-Beschallungstechnik and contributed to prestigious installations including the Semperoper and Schauspiel Dresden, Kammerspiele Munich, Alte Oper Frankfurt, and notable venues like the Reichstag in Berlin and Olympic Stadium in Moscow. The company's flagship innovation is their patented FIRTEC technology, invented in 1994 and integrated into all KSD speakers, which linearizes both amplitude frequency response and phase characteristics for professional monitoring applications. KSdigital operates with a fully integrated approach, handling every aspect of production in-house including electronics development, design, sound tuning algorithms, component selection, purchasing, marketing, and quality assurance with their dedicated team of permanent employees. The company's product lineup includes both coaxial series (C-Reference Line) and classic studio monitors designed for professional studios, immersive set-ups, broadcasters, and home studios. Since 2022, the management team has been expanded with André Hammerschmidt serving as third managing director, who has been with the company since 2007 and oversees production, quality management, purchasing, and development operations. KSdigital represents German engineering excellence in professional audio monitoring, serving studios worldwide with their Made in Germany approach to high-end professional loudspeaker manufacturing.
