The MP-40 2.1 multichannel processor from Lyngdorf Audio is designed for smaller immersive or surround sound home cinemas, offering the same high-quality audio performance as the flagship MP-60 2.1 but with fewer decoding channels. The MP-40 2.1 supports up to 12 native channel decoding and features 16 balanced audio outputs. It is fully compatible with the leading immersive surround sound formats including DOLBY ATMOS®, DTS:X®, and AURO-3D®. Additionally, the processor is equipped for 8K and 3D video playback, features HDCP 2.3, and supports advanced HDMI switching.

In terms of HDMI capabilities, the MP-40 2.1 includes three HDMI inputs and two outputs, supporting HDMI 2.1 features such as eARC, Dynamic Lip-Sync, and QMS (Quick Media Switching). The system handles 40 Gbps fixed rate link (FRL) and 18 Gbps transition minimized differential signaling (TMDS) video rates. It also supports Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), Quick Frame Transport, Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), and high dynamic range (HDR) metadata passthrough for HDMI dynamic HDR, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision™.

One of the highlight features of the MP-40 2.1 is the implementation of Lyngdorf Audio’s RoomPerfect™ room correction technology. This advanced calibration system adapts the sound system to the specific acoustics of the environment, reducing the need for bulky bass traps or other costly acoustic treatments and ensuring optimal audio performance in nearly any room setup. This makes installation simpler and enhances user experience by making high-quality audio more accessible and easier to manage.
