The McIntosh MA2275 is a 2-channel vacuum tube integrated amplifier that delivers 75 watts of power per channel across 2, 4, or 8 ohm loads. Manufactured from 2004 to 2011, this amplifier features a robust design with a total weight of 35 kilograms, embodying a large and imposing presence. It integrates the Classic 275 power amp with a modern low-noise dual output preamp stage, making it the first McIntosh integrated amplifier to use vacuum tubes exclusively in all audio circuits. The MA2275 employs advanced manufacturing techniques, including the use of glass epoxy printed circuit boards instead of point-to-point wiring, and features high-quality components such as bifilar wound output transformers to improve frequency response and reduce distortion. There are multiple input options, including five high-level inputs and a dedicated phono input for moving magnet cartridges, allowing users versatility in connecting various audio sources. The tone controls provide 24dB of adjustment for both treble and bass. Its design emphasizes a spacious, dynamic sound with good instrument separation and clarity in the midrange. The chassis features a Super Mirror finish, and it also incorporates features like gold-plated connectors to ensure reliable connections and minimize signal degradation. The amplifier has been favorably received for its performance characteristics, which include low total harmonic distortion across a wide frequency range, and a signal-to-noise ratio that highlights its high-quality audio reproduction capabilities.
